Hyperfixate. Discuss. Rewatch.
Welcome to Critic & Chill ✨

I’m Boutaina, a cinephile who’s endlessly fascinated by everything films have to offer.
This blog started very innocently. I just wanted a place to write movie reviews for a school project. Structured thoughts. Clear ratings. Sensible opinions. And hopefully a good grade in school.
Somewhere along the way, that idea quietly fell apart.
Now it’s less of a “review blog” and more of… whatever space my brain needs it to be. Sometimes it’s a deep dive into a film I can’t stop thinking about. Sometimes it’s a messy reflection on a scene that hit too close to home. Sometimes it’s a ranking of soundtracks, a discussion about filmmaking choices, a book about cinema I loved, a podcast I couldn’t shut up about, or just a collection of links I think are worth your time.
It’s not perfectly organized. It’s not always objective. It’s definitely not neutral. But it’s honest.
More than anything, I wanted to create a judgment-free corner for people who feel movies deeply. A place where cinephiles and casual viewers can coexist without turning everything into a debate battlefield. Where we can disagree, obsess over details, spiral over symbolism, and still remember that we’re all just here because we love stories.
So whether you’re looking for a proper review, an overthought analysis, a soundtrack recommendation, or just a cinematic rant, I hope you find something that speaks to you.
This blog may have started with reviews. But now it’s just me, trying to make sense of cinema out loud.
So grab your snacks, join the conversation, and let’s explore the world of cinema together 🎥
